Premium German-made honey storage and settling tank with a secure, airtight locking lid.
The Carl Fritz 50kg Stainless Steel Honey Tank is a beautifully engineered solution for beekeepers and honey producers who want to store, settle and dispense their honey in a clean, secure and hygienic environment.
Manufactured in Germany by Carl Fritz (CFM), this professional-quality honey tank features four locking catches and a food-safe silicone gasket, creating a tight, airtight seal when the lid is properly secured.
Unlike the standard CFM 50kg honey tank with a loose-fitting lid, this model allows the lid to be firmly clamped into position, providing additional protection against dust, moisture and airborne contaminants during storage.
Constructed from durable stainless steel, the tank also features a gently sloping base and a low-positioned 1½-inch honey tap for convenient, controlled dispensing into jars or other containers.
Ideal for hobbyist and commercial beekeepers alike, it's a practical investment for anyone who values quality, hygiene and reliable honey processing equipment.

What Makes the Locking-Lid Version Different?
Carl Fritz offers two popular 50kg honey tanks, and the principal difference is the lid.
The standard version features a loose-fitting lid that rests on top of the tank.
This upgraded model has four locking catches and a food-safe silicone gasket, allowing the lid to be secured firmly against the rim of the tank.
This makes it particularly attractive to beekeepers who want additional protection for honey being stored between extraction, settling and bottling.
The locking lid helps:
-
Keep the tank securely closed during storage.
-
Reduce exposure to dust and airborne contamination.
-
Provide a tighter seal than a conventional loose-fitting lid.
-
Keep the lid firmly in position when the tank is not in use.
For beekeepers producing honey for sale, the secure locking arrangement is a valuable practical feature in a well-organised honey processing room.
Important: This tank is not designed for pressurised or vacuum operation and must not be connected to a honey pump in a way that creates suction or pressure inside the sealed vessel. Doing so could deform or implode the stainless steel tank walls.
Designed for Efficient Honey Handling
Sloping Base and Low-Positioned Honey Tap
The tank has a gently sloping base that directs honey towards the outlet, making it easier to dispense honey and reducing the amount left behind.
The 1½-inch honey tap is welded at the bottom level of the tank, allowing convenient filling of jars and containers.
Hygienic Stainless Steel Construction
The tank features a seam-welded, gap-free base, helping prevent honey and debris from collecting in difficult-to-clean joints.
Stainless steel is a practical, durable choice for honey handling and is easy to clean and maintain between batches.
Convenient Drop Handles
Two drop handles make the tank easier to position and handle when empty.
As with all honey tanks, suitable lifting equipment or assistance should be used when the tank contains significant quantities of honey.

Important Usage & Safety Information
This is a storage, settling and dispensing tank, not a pressure or vacuum vessel.
The four locking catches create a secure lid seal, but the tank is not suitable for use with a honey pump where suction or pressure could build up inside the sealed tank.
A pump drawing honey from the closed tank could create a vacuum, potentially causing the stainless steel walls to collapse inwards.
Do not use the tank as a sealed pump-fed or pump-drawn vessel. If you're planning to incorporate a honey pump into your processing setup, contact us for advice on suitable tanks and connections.
