Purchased a second Anel bundle from here last week, after being more than satisfied with the first one. I've been evaluating several hive types, and I think Anel is going to be my new standard. I like the design, I much prefer plastic frames, and I'm slowly getting comfortable with plastic foundation.
If you look across all the currently available plastic/composite hives on the market, they all have their good and bad points, and at the end of the day it's a balance and compromise factor. The Anel bundle represents value for money along with good quality, and other than self waxing your plastic foundation you are ready to go. It comes with a screened base, 2 entrances, brood box, queen excluder, 2 supers, feeder and roof. You also get frames and foundation for all 3 boxes.
If you don't like the idea of plastic frames or foundation, I'm sure they will do a package with wooden.
I'm sure Gruff did a YouTube video on the Anel hives a while back if you need more detail.
Be aware that they are Langstroth size hives, not standard national.
I have one in the glove box and one in my top pocket. But when you forget your hive tool this is a life saver better than scissors or a stick. I found it to be pretty niche as easy for my daughter to use aswell, as shes only twelve and seems have more control with it
Pellets smell great and burn well. Definitely use again. Delivery was very fast also.
Such a huge upgrade from my cheap suit i purchased elsewhere last year. The rigid hood makes a big difference and stops the veil collapsing onto my face. Visibility is great. No stings got through so far. Delivery was very fast and excellent service as always.
From ordering to collection the service from friendly and efficient. The bees seem to be thriving thus far.
Great service - bees arrived in sturdy boxes and were very active.
Very calm when transferred .
Now happily transferred to Poly Hives
Good communication and advice
I like these traps, they are attractive and easy to hang on the bee barns. We keep our hives under cover because of the constant rain, so the traps are about two meters in front of the hives and about two feet above them.
Waiting for visitors, so far nothing baited.
Early in the season yet. Seen a few wasps about but nothing in the traps yet. We are usually fighting of wasp attacks from August onwards. Waiting to see if these traps improve the situation.
Bought these to use in place of the easy click models that came with my Anel hives. They are much easier to fit and remove as they are not held in place by the hive. Watching the bees go in and out of the mouse guard ,the holes of which are tubular they seam happier and are using this side in preference to a completely open entrance
A perfect upgrade to the Quarti Nuc would be happy if it was already fitted to the nuke in the first place
Fantastic nuc box
Carry one round in my van perfect for making very quick splits
A very good suit fits very well as I’m 6 foot three
Also have the half jacket I’ve had for over a year very good very hard wearing
This is my second bottle o since November last year. I really like the taste and versatility of it.
Love these entrance blockers perfect size but can be cut if needed
I’ve not moved hives yet but imagine will allow some ventilation through as well
Very good quality and at a great price.
