National Nucs for Sale | Buckfast Honey Bees

National Nucs for Sale – Buckfast Honey Bees UK

Looking to buy National nucleus colonies? At Gwenyn Gruffydd, we supply quality, five-frame British National Buckfast nucs, carefully raised and managed by our experienced beekeeping team here in West Wales.

Whether you're purchasing your very first colony or expanding an established apiary, we offer both overwintered National nucs and spring-produced National nucs, depending on seasonal availability.

Every National nuc we sell is produced entirely in-house by Gruff and our own beekeeping team. From raising and managing the colonies through to preparing them for collection or delivery, we take pride in the quality of the bees we supply.

Our National Nucleus Colonies

Overwintered Buckfast National Nucs

Our overwintered nucs are established colonies headed by queens from the previous season. Having successfully come through winter together, these colonies are ready to develop as spring conditions improve.

Overwintered nucs are a popular choice for beekeepers looking for an established colony at the beginning of the season.

Spring-Produced Buckfast National Nucs

Our spring-produced nucs are built up during the current beekeeping season, with a young Buckfast queen and a developing colony.

They offer another excellent option for both new and experienced beekeepers, with availability determined by seasonal conditions and colony development.

What Will You Receive?

Our five-frame British National nucleus colonies are supplied with:

• Five British Standard National frames

• A Buckfast queen

• A healthy population of honey bees

• Brood at different stages of development

• Food stores to support the colony

• A suitable ventilated travelling box

All colonies are individually inspected before being released.

Queen age, marking and other season-specific details are provided on the individual product listings.

Raised by Us. Managed by Us. Supplied by Us.

We're a working Welsh honey farm, managing hundreds of colonies across Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion.

Unlike businesses that simply buy in colonies for resale, our entire National nuc production is managed in-house, giving us direct oversight of the bees throughout their development.

• DASH-accredited bee farmers

• Members of the Bee Farmers' Association

• Experienced commercial beekeeping team

Collection & Delivery

Our National nucs are available for collection from our bee farm in Dryslwyn, Carmarthenshire, with specialist live-bee delivery also available to eligible UK mainland addresses.

Collection and delivery arrangements, prices and availability are shown on the individual product listings.

Please remember that bees are livestock, not manufactured products. Release dates depend on weather, colony development and final inspections. We will only supply colonies when we're satisfied they're ready.
