If you are looking to buy National nucs for sale in the UK, we offer strong Buckfast nucleus colonies produced at our honey farm in West Wales.
Our National nucs are supplied on British Standard National DN4 frames and are suitable for all standard National hives used by UK beekeepers.
All colonies are headed by carefully selected Buckfast queens and are produced in our own apiaries.
We offer both overwintered National nucs and new season National nucs depending on the time of year.
Overwintered National Nucs
Our overwintered National nucs are strong colonies that have successfully survived winter and are among the earliest bees available each season.
These nucs are typically:
• Available from mid-April to late April, depending on weather conditions
• Well established colonies with brood and stores
• Ideal for beekeepers wanting an early start to the season
Pre-orders for overwintered nucs open each Autumn and these colonies usually sell out well before Spring.
New Season National Nucs
Once overwintered nucs are sold out, our new season National nucs become available.
These colonies are created during spring using carefully selected Buckfast queens.
New season nucs are normally available from mid-May onwards once colonies have built up strongly.
Each nuc typically contains:
• A young Buckfast queen
• Brood in all stages (eggs, larvae and sealed brood)
• Worker bees
• Honey stores and pollen
These nucs are supplied ready to transfer directly into a National brood box.
