A professional honey sump without the bulk of a traditional large-capacity system.
Looking to improve your honey extraction setup but don't have the space for a large 250kg honey sump?
The Carl Fritz Mini Honey Sump is a clever, space saving solution for larger hobbyist beekeepers, expanding apiaries and semi-commercial honey producers who want a more efficient way to collect, coarse filter and transfer honey directly from their extractor.
Manufactured in Germany by Carl Fritz (CFM), this compact, round stainless steel honey sump combines a removable coarse filter basket, thermostatically controlled base heating and a DN50 butterfly valve, making it an excellent starting point for a pumped honey processing system.
Small Footprint. Professional Honey Processing.
Traditional honey sumps can be large, expensive and difficult to accommodate in smaller extraction rooms.
Not everyone has the floor space for a 250kg honey sump, particularly when processing honey in a converted outbuilding, dedicated honey room or smaller workshop.
That's where the Carl Fritz Mini Honey Sump comes into its own.
Its compact, circular design allows it to sit directly beneath the honey outlet of your extractor, collecting freshly extracted honey while taking up considerably less space than a traditional large capacity sump.
It's an ideal solution for beekeepers looking to streamline their extraction process without committing to a full-scale commercial honey processing line.
How Does the Mini Honey Sump Work?
1. Collect honey directly from your extractor
Position the mini sump beneath your honey extractor's outlet tap. As the honey leaves the extractor, it flows directly into the stainless steel sump.
2. Remove wax and larger debris
The removable coarse-filter basket catches larger pieces of wax, fragments of comb, bees and other debris before the honey progresses through your processing system.
The basket can be lifted out for cleaning.
3. Keep honey flowing with integrated heating
The sump features a thermostatically controlled 1000W heated base, helping maintain honey fluidity during extraction and transfer.
4. Pump honey to your next processing stage
The DN50 butterfly valve and dairy-thread outlet allow the sump to be connected to compatible honey hoses and pumping equipment.
From here, honey can be transferred to a settling tank, fine straining system or another stage of your honey processing line.

Build Your Own Compact Honey Processing System
One of the biggest advantages of the Carl Fritz Mini Honey Sump is its ability to form part of a larger honey processing setup.
For example, you could connect the following equipment:
Honey Extractor → Carl Fritz Mini Honey Sump → Honey Pump → 125kg Honey Straining Tank
Freshly extracted honey flows into the mini sump, where larger pieces of wax and debris are removed. A compatible honey pump can then transfer the honey through food-grade hoses into a separate tank for finer straining and subsequent settling or processing.
For beekeepers who don't have the space for a traditional large-capacity sump, this offers a practical way to develop a more efficient extraction line using smaller individual pieces of equipment.
Pair It with the Carl Fritz 125kg Honey Straining System
The mini sump can be used alongside our Carl Fritz 125kg Honey Straining Bundle, which includes the stainless steel straining tank, heating equipment and nylon conical strainers.
Together, these products offer a practical approach to coarse filtration, pumped transfer and finer honey straining.

Please note: Honey extractor, pump, connecting hoses, compatible fittings and downstream straining equipment are sold separately. A suitable hose coupling is required for connecting the DN50 outlet to compatible hose equipment.
