Plastic pollen trap with slide out ventilated pollen tray by ANEL, Greece

This is a larger version of the classic ANEL pollen collector. 

It has:

  • More than two times larger pollen collection area. 
  • Larger flight board on the tray. 
  • Larger rain cover. 
  • Better drawer attachment so that it is not affected by wind or bugs. 
  • With specially designed gaps that do not injure the bees while retaining 60% of the pollen so that there is no danger of pollen deprivation for the hive. 
  • It has two points of protrusion, right and left, that are pushed in the hive entrance; the collector is supported on these two points. 

The classic ANEL collector has become famous all over the world. We are confident that you will love the new ANEL BIG GUY collector the way you loved the old one. 

This will require very close monitoring and daily emptying. Please note that this will need adapting to suit individual hive entrance and floor configurations.

Really good, well made and thought out,
Item was packed really well and delivery was reasonably quick considering time of year and how busy they must be.

I thought I'd try a bit of intentional queen rearing with the Nicot system. Actually a chinese copy. A pollen trap will give me a bit more flexibility. This has fitted well onto my custom floors with bottom entrance.
The unit is plastic. It will need looking after. not to many bumps.
I've had it on the hive for a few days with the door open.
Overall I'd give it 8/10.
Service from Gruffydd and Angharad is 10/10
Just need a week of good weather where I can rob pollen for a day.
