Clear Honey Supers Quickly Without Disturbing the Hive

The Rhombus Bee Escape is a simple, effective solution for clearing bees from honey supers before extraction. Designed to create a one-way exit, it allows bees to move down out of the super while making it difficult for them to return.

Under good conditions, supers can be cleared in around 2 hours, saving time and effort during honey harvest.

How It Works

The escape is fitted into a crownboard or dedicated clearer board (not included). As bees move downward towards the brood area, they pass through the escape’s internal tunnels into a chamber below.

How to Use

1. Use a crownboard or create a dedicated clearer board
2. Cut a central hole approximately 115mm in diameter
3. Build up a rim around the board to around 50mm deep to form a chamber
4. Fix the escape over the hole with the tunnels facing downwards into the chamber
5. Place the board beneath the supers you want to clear

Bees will move through the escape and down into the brood area, leaving the supers ready for removal.

Remove the escape once the super is clear
Leaving it in place too long may allow bees to find their way back
