Embossed Beeswax Wax Foundation - Unwired Shallow Foundation
Large Pack of 20 Sheets
To fit a National shallow Sized Frame
The Beeswax sheets are made in France. Thomas Apiculture is a world leading manufacturer of beekeeping equipment and this foundation is manufactured in house by them for Gwenyn Gruffydd.
The wax is purified, sterilised and embossed in the Thomas Apiculture workshop in Fay-aux-Loges and it is obtained by casting a different manufacturing process.
This wax is by nature more brittle and needs to be handled with care but the bees will work this type of wax 80% faster over 4 days compared to standard wax by lamination.
These foundation sheets are extremely popular with bee farmers in France. They are perfect for cut comb honey.
We recommend that you store it in a room at room temperature (20 - 25°C) the day before it is used.
In the light, it is normal for natural wax to whiten over time.
Precautions for use
Handle with care. Store in a dry place at room temperature away from frost and direct light.
Absolutely fantastic from order to delivery. The quality is very good. Thanks will order again very soon.
Excellent delivery service. Thank you
Well packaged, great quality, slotted into the frames with no issues, very happy :)
Smells great and the bees love it.
The Thomas French wax is very good value and smells and looks lovely. It is a little bit thick, in my opinion, for a good cut comb product but I have put it into plastic frames the have inbuilt support so should spin out OK. It is cast wax and not rolled so is a bit brittle and needs to be handled carefully.
I have used it for starter strips for my ZEST hive.
I have also bought some BS brood wax as well which I can put into wired frames. I think the bees will take to it very well.
