This economy Insulated Plastic Queen Mating Nuc Box is a compact and efficient solution for queen rearing, mating and small nucleus colony management.

Designed to support successful queen development while requiring only a small number of worker bees, it offers a practical and controlled environment for mating and early brood establishment.

Manufactured from rigid, double-walled insulated plastic, this mating nuc helps protect bees from temperature fluctuations, improving colony stability during the critical mating period. Its lightweight yet durable construction makes it easy to transport, position and maintain within your apiary.

Supplied as a complete working unit, this nuc box includes a feed chamber, three internal frames, sliding floor and adjustable entrance gate — giving you everything needed to begin queen mating straight away.

Available in green or blue

How to Use for Queen Rearing

  1. Fit each frame with a strip of foundation (no drawn comb) and fill the feeder with fondant or candy.

  2. Shake young bees into a container, lightly spray with sugar syrup, and add one cupful into the mating nuc.

  3. Close the box and leave for about an hour, then introduce a virgin queen.

  4. Keep the nuc in a cool, dark place for 2–3 days before placing it in the apiary for mating flights.

  5. Check after two weeks for eggs and brood to confirm a successfully mated laying queen.
