Apidea Mating Hive for Queen rearing
The hive is supplied with a complete set of parts and is of outstanding quality.
It comes with complete with:
- 3 x plastic frames
- Ventilation grid
- Queen excluder
- Transparent inner lid
Made from hard styrofoam, the walls are approx. 20mm thick for optimal insulation.
3-frame brood box, which can accommodate 5 frames with feeder section removed.
Roof with roller cage recesses
Removable sliding floor
Removable feeder – capacity for up to 500g fondant
Transparent inner lid with an opening for the insertion of a queen’s cage with a cover flap.

Over the years I’ve followed Griff and Angharad’s progress in the Beekeeping world . They are couple that we all feel we know from seeing them on the interweb . I made my first purchase from them many years ago when I took up beekeeping and that was one of their well made hive / super carriers . I still use it to this day .
Scroll forward five years I decided this is the year I am going to create my own Queens . I have chosen to go down the mini mating nuc route . Having , researched what I wanted I search the interweb and discovered that this lovely couple could supply what I wanted at a very competitive price . It was a no brainer . I promptly ordered and received quickly and well packaged with one of their thank you cards with in . I will deal again with this fabulous couple . I’ll try and make sure it isn’t so long this time !
