Use in combination with our wasp bags and dome traps to attract them.

Jersey have found to date that this Trappit lure is one of the most effective lure for asian hornets and wasps as it does not attract honeybees and can be used in Spring and Autumn too.

The Asian Hornet (Vespa velutina), is an aggressive predator of beneficial insects including honeybees. It has extended its geographical range from Asia to mainland Europe following an accidental introduction into France. It is now also present in Spain, Majorca, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Germany, and Switzerland. Adult hornets are highly mobile, the rate of spread across France was approximately 60-100 km/year. In September 2016 Asian hornet was confirmed for the first time in the UK, but it is still not clear whether it is established or not. It is vital that beekeepers monitor for the presence of the hornet in their area - source National Bee Unit.

Waiting

Early in the season yet. Seen a few wasps about but nothing in the traps yet. We are usually fighting of wasp attacks from August onwards. Waiting to see if these traps improve the situation.

Works great, drawing wasps away from my hives but not attracting bees

Very effective wasp bait!

We've used this for two years and it is very effective! We've combined it with the disposable bag and another wasp dome trap and we have caught countless wasps and European hornets this year as well. Excellent!

On the website it says that the Trappit bags need 500mls of this lure, or that's what it seemed like, so I was a bit reluctant to pay for a1litre bottle thinking that it would only fill 2 bags. So I was delighted when I read the instructions and it will actually fill 10 bags as it has to be diluted!! My hives have been decimated by wasps this year. Within about 2 minutes of putting these up wasps were already piling in. So satisfying! Sadly, it won't save the damaged colonies this year as I was too late with them, but I'm hoping that they might catch the queen wasps looking to overwinter.

Does what it says on the tin

Very effective lure. I put some Trappit and for comparison lemonade and jam in two identical traps. Trappit won hands down, attracting several wasps and four hornets in one day, compared to flies and one wasp in the other trap
