Spanish Beeswax Foundation Sheets – National Brood (1kg)

Our Spanish beeswax foundation sheets are manufactured from high-quality natural Spanish beeswax and are designed specifically for use in European-style pre-wired National brood frames.

The sheets feature a well-defined embossed cell pattern to encourage rapid comb building and are ideal for both hobby and commercial beekeepers. Suitable for electric wax embedding, they provide a straightforward and reliable way to prepare frames ready for the season.

Natural Colour Variation

Please note that Spanish beeswax is naturally darker in colour than some other European waxes. The rich golden to dark amber appearance is a normal characteristic of the wax and reflects its natural origin, the floral sources visited by the bees and the way the wax has been processed.

The darker colour is not an indication of poor quality and does not affect bee acceptance or comb building. Bees readily draw out this foundation under suitable nectar flow and colony conditions.

Why Choose Our Spanish Beeswax Foundation?

  • Manufactured from natural Spanish beeswax.

  • Strong, well-defined embossed cell pattern.

  • Excellent bee acceptance.

  • Designed for electric wax embedding.

  • Suitable for hobby and commercial beekeepers.

  • Fits European-style pre-wired National brood frames.

Compatibility

These foundation sheets are designed for use with European-style pre-wired assembled National brood frames. Buy pre-wired frames here now:  Pre-Wired & Assembled Wooden frames.

They are not suitable for traditional British grooved top bar and grooved bottom bar frames (such as DN4 flat-pack frames), where wired foundation is normally required.

Sheet Size

These sheets are intentionally manufactured slightly smaller than traditional British wired foundation. This allows the wax to be electrically embedded onto the frame wires, leaving a small expansion gap around the edges.

Pack Contents

  • Approximately 17 foundation sheets per 1kg (quantity may vary slightly due to the natural thickness of beeswax).

Storage

For best results:

  • Store flat in a cool, dry place.

  • Keep out of direct sunlight.

  • Avoid excessive heat, which may soften the wax.

  • If stored in a cold environment, allow the sheets to warm to room temperature before embedding to reduce the risk of cracking.

Whether you're preparing a handful of frames for your own apiary or hundreds of frames for the season ahead, these Spanish beeswax foundation sheets offer a dependable, natural foundation for your colonies to build beautiful brood comb.

1kg National Brood Foundation for Pre-Wired Frames

• Natural Spanish beeswax
• National Brood size
• Approx. 17 sheets per kg
• Suitable for pre-wired frames
• Embossed worker cell pattern
• Made from 100% beeswax

Spanish beeswax naturally has a richer golden to dark amber colour than some other European waxes. This is completely normal and reflects the natural floral sources visited by the bees together with the processing of the wax.

The darker colour is not an indication of poor quality and does not affect bee acceptance or comb building. Bees readily draw this foundation under suitable colony and nectar flow conditions.

Position the foundation sheet onto the frame wires and use an electric wax embedder to embed the wires into the wax. Allow the wax to cool before use.

Store flat in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid excessive heat. Allow sheets to reach room temperature before embedding if stored in cold conditions.
