Help your bees defend their hive against wasps and Asian hornets with the HiveGuard elevated entrance.

Unlike conventional entrance restrictors, HiveGuard relocates the active entrance from floor level to the side of the brood box, closer to the frames and the main body of the colony. Intruders must travel upwards through narrow internal corridors, bringing them into close contact with guard bees that can quickly identify and repel them.

This design gives the colony a stronger defensive position without unnecessarily slowing normal bee traffic—particularly useful during periods of heavy wasp pressure or where Asian hornets are a concern.

Why choose HiveGuard?

  • Helps protect colonies against wasps and Asian hornets
  • Elevated entrance gives guard bees a defensive advantage
  • Narrow internal corridors bring intruders into close contact with bees
  • Allows normal bee traffic to move efficiently
  • Original floor-level entrance can be closed during periods of high pressure
  • Permanent, reusable design
  • Available in a choice of colours

How it is fitted

HiveGuard requires a suitable entrance hole to be made in the side of the brood box, close to the frames. The HiveGuard is then secured over the opening, creating an elevated entrance and protected internal passageway.

Patent Pending.

The hive’s existing floor-level entrance can remain available when pressure is low or be closed when wasps or hornets are active.

Please note: Installation requires drilling or cutting an entrance hole in the brood box. Check the fitting instructions and positioning carefully before installation.
