The InstantVap units are to be used with oxalic acid dihydrate of 97%-100% purity. Be aware that some oxalic acid products contain additives like glucose and silica that are unsuitable for use in this device.

Clean the unit at least after every 20 treatments.

Put on your safety gear, including your gloves, mask and safety glasses. Make sure the unit is not clogged. Heat up the unit in case it is cooled. Remove battery and the Oxalic Acid dispenser from unit. Fill the silicone cleaning cap with water. Turn the heated unit upside down and push the cap on the dispenser’s tube. Hold the cleaning cap firmly on top of the dispenser tube, point the outlet tube away from you and turn the unit back.

Repeat until the unit does not generate any more steam.

WARNING! High pressure and hot steam!

Rinse the cooled unit by adding a full cap of water through the dispenser’s tube, shaking it and draining it through the dispenser’s tube. Repeat until the drained water is clear. Heat the unit to dry up any water remaining in the unit. Let it cool.

Clean the outside of the unit by wiping it with a damp cloth. The dispenser is to be washed in water.

Add a drop of mineral oil or grease to the O-ring (D) to increase lifespan and ease of use. Store the unit in dry and clean state.

Exellent time saving tool

as long as you're not using Apibioxal this tool is fantastic, Varroxal was not available when i first used my instavape lite, and it got totally blocked despite only having treated 5 nucs, took me a while to figure out why water was not cleaning the blockage but is now sorted, there's no varoxal in stock atm so the rest of my treatments are delayed, i look forward to trying again without Apibioxal gumming up the works!

Game changer

First saw this being demonstrated at the 2025 spring convention, but felt i couldnt justify the price point. having increased the number of colonies I have during the year decided the time had come. and yes as title says this is a game changer, superb build quality, small size so fits in my tool caddy no problem. Easy to use and best of all treated 10 colonies in under 20 mins, with next to no disturbance to the bees. Heartily recommended.
