The CFM Carl Fritz Solar Wax Melter provides a simple, economical and environmentally friendly way to process beeswax using nothing more than the heat of the sun.

Designed to accommodate up to 2 beekeeping frames at a time, the melter combines a substantial solid wooden frame, double-glazed transparent lid, wax collecting tray and double-sided enamelled steel panel to maximise heat within the chamber.

Melt Beeswax Using Free Solar Energy

Solar wax melting is one of the simplest ways for beekeepers to recover beeswax from old comb, brace comb and other suitable wax material.

As sunlight passes through the double-glazed lid, heat builds inside the enclosed chamber. The beeswax gradually melts and flows down into the collecting tray while much of the unwanted debris remains behind.

There's no electrical connection, steam generator or gas burner required – just position the melter in good direct sunlight and allow solar energy to do the work.

It's a particularly useful piece of equipment for processing smaller quantities of wax throughout the beekeeping season.

Capacity for 2 Frames

The CFM Solar Wax Melter has capacity for up to two frames at a time, allowing old comb to be processed directly within the melter.

The generous internal area measures approximately 51.5 × 49cm, while the complete melter measures approximately 77 × 60 × 28cm.
