The colony is headed up with a 2024 Buckfast Queen. They are good to handle, gentle bees, and suitable for beginners and the experienced beekeepers. All our bees will be fully inspected and health checked by us before they leave the farm.
We have achieved our accreditation to the DASH scheme; Disease Accreditation Scheme for Honeybees, this is a an accreditation set up between the NBU (National Bee Unit, APHA (Animal and Plant Advisory Unit)) and the BFA (Bee Farmers Association).

I purchased a nucleus last year and the bees have been amazing. They are easy to handle and built up to a strong colony by the end of the summer. They even managed to produce some honey to be extracted. They built up the most winter stores and although I have given them candy ‘just in case’ it has hardly been touched. I am still keeping an eye on them. On warm days they are the busiest colony of my five colonies. I have kept bees for 40 years and I can say they are one of the best that I have had. Many thanks to you.
