What's Included in This Bundle?
This listing is for the complete honey straining bundle, not just the stainless steel tank.
Your bundle includes:
-
Carl Fritz 125kg Stainless Steel Honey Straining Tank – Complete with two honey outlets, a loose-fitting lid and sturdy carrying handles.
-
Fine Conical Nylon Honey Strainer – 350 Micron (0.35mm) – For filtering smaller wax particles and debris from extracted honey.
-
Coarse Nylon Honey Strainer – 1,000 Micron (1mm) – For catching larger pieces of wax and hive debris.
-
Stainless Steel Perforated Support Cone – Supports the straining arrangement inside the tank.
-
Dana api Therma II Electric Coiled Heater – 1,000W / 230V – Helps maintain honey flow through the straining system.
-
Stainless Steel Clamping Ring – Secures the fine conical strainer inside the tank.
Both honey outlets and their corresponding taps are included, giving you a complete, purpose-designed system for filtering honey into buckets or additional settling tanks.
Why Choose the Carl Fritz Honey Straining System?
Designed for Larger Honey Harvests
If you're processing more honey than a conventional double sieve can comfortably handle, this Carl Fritz straining system offers a practical way to increase capacity and streamline your honey room.
The manufacturer specifies a potential throughput of up to 500kg of honey per day, depending on the honey's temperature, viscosity and operating conditions.
Carl Fritz recommends this system for beekeepers managing approximately 50 hives, although suitability will depend on your individual harvest volumes and processing requirements.
Two-Stage Honey Filtration
The bundle combines a coarse 1,000-micron nylon strainer with a finer 350-micron conical strainer.
The coarse strainer captures larger wax particles and debris, while the finer mesh removes smaller particles before the honey is transferred to your storage or settling containers.
This provides an efficient way to prepare freshly extracted honey for the next stage of processing.
Electric Heating to Support Honey Flow
The included Dana api Therma II 1,000W electric coiled heater helps honey pass through the straining system, particularly when filtering becomes slower due to the honey's viscosity.
Positioned inside the stainless steel perforated cone, the heater supports the straining process without requiring the entire batch of honey to be heated for prolonged periods.
Temperature settings should be selected with care and honey temperature monitored to preserve honey quality.
Clever Two-Outlet Design
Unlike a conventional honey tank with a single tap, this system features two outlets designed for efficient straining.
The upper outlet is used to draw off filtered honey during operation, while the lower outlet allows the tank to be emptied at the end of processing.
The system takes advantage of the fact that beeswax is lighter than honey and naturally rises towards the surface.
By drawing filtered honey from the upper outlet while the tank remains filled to the appropriate level, the strainer surface below the outlet can remain clearer of floating wax particles for longer.
Premium German Stainless Steel Construction
Manufactured by Carl Fritz in Germany, the tank features a durable stainless steel body, a seam-welded base and a gently sloping floor to encourage drainage towards the lower outlet.
Its robust construction makes it a valuable addition to a dedicated honey processing room.
How Does the Carl Fritz Honey Straining Bundle Work?
The system is designed to filter honey efficiently while taking advantage of the natural separation between honey and wax particles.
Step 1 – Install the fine strainer
Position the fine 350-micron conical nylon strainer inside the tank and secure it using the supplied clamping ring.
Step 2 – Position the support cone and heater
Place the stainless steel perforated cone inside the fine strainer and position the Dana api Therma II electric heating element within the cone.
Step 3 – Fit the coarse strainer
Position the coarse 1,000-micron nylon strainer above the fine filtration assembly to catch larger wax particles and debris.
Step 4 – Begin filling the tank
Introduce freshly extracted honey at a reasonably steady rate. Carl Fritz recommends filling the tank relatively quickly initially to reduce the risk of wax particles blocking the fine strainer prematurely.
Step 5 – Allow the honey level to rise
Keep the lower honey tap closed so that the honey level rises towards the upper outlet.
As the honey settles within the system, lighter wax particles naturally rise towards the surface.
Step 6 – Draw off filtered honey
Leave the upper outlet open during normal operation, allowing strained honey to flow into honey buckets, hobbocks or additional storage tanks.
The lower outlet is used when you need to empty the remaining honey from the tank.
Processing performance depends on the honey variety, temperature, viscosity and the amount of wax or debris present. Always follow the manufacturer's operating instructions for the heater and straining system.
