6 Frame Buckfast Bees Nuc Available for immediate collection JUNE 2021 - £250

Ready for collection now JUNE 2021

The price of a single (6 frame) nucleus of buckfast bees in a brand new Payne’s Poly Nuc is £250 (collected price)

We have secured a supply of these colonies from a good friend and a very experienced local Bee farmer who has been keeping bees for over 30 years. It is for this reason we have decided to partner with this breeder and offer these nucs for sale from Gwenyn Gruffydd.

The bees:

The colony is headed up with this year's Buckfast Queen. They are good to handle, gentle, quiet bees, and suitable for beginners and the experienced beekeeper. All our bees will be fully inspected by a bee inspector from APHA and checked again by us the day before they leave us.

We have achieved our accreditation to the DASH scheme; Disease Accreditation Scheme for Honeybees, this is a an accreditation set up between the NBU (National Bee Unit, APHA (Animal and Plant Advisory Unit)) and the BFA (Bee Farmers Association).

The Nuc:

Reared up early in the season and provided on British Standard National frames with brood at all stages and bees over 6 frames and supplied in a brand new Payne’s Poly Hive. The hive will be supplied with 2 roofs - one vented for safe transportation of the bees back to your premises and one solid roof to replace the traveling lid once secured in your apiary.

How To Make Beekeeping A Joy This is a MUST BUY for new beekeepers. Best bees i have ever worked

I have been keeping bees on and off for 40 years and these are the most easy bees to work i have ever come across, the frames were evenly mixed with sealed brood and all stages leading up to sealed, they came in a NEW poly nuc with two lids one closed the other with gauge for transport. The advice given was very clearly explained to me and you could tell straight away that you were dealing with people that have GREAT knowledge of the currant beekeeping situation and a passion for bees second to none. Transferred the bees to a W.B.C. the next morning after collection the night before, I did not need to use any smoke and the bees stayed calm throughout the hole process and did not come off the frames or come at me in any way. As instructed i placed a rapid feeder on the crown board straight away. i checked the hive 3 days latter all was well the queen easily seen and the new frames of wired foundation already being drawn out. they have been happily working of every fine day and with the feed on every rainy day as well, as i have the hive inside a lorry body i can check them what ever the weather. My plan as discussed with Gruff is to split the hive and make two from one when the colony is strong enough and at the rate they are going it will be about five weeks from purchase. Another grate feature of this purchase is that advice and help is just a phone call away. This new venture by this young Welsh family is well deserving of every beekeepers support and i wish them every success for the future.
