Apifonda is a Südzucker product containing exceptionally pure, micro-fine crystals, covered with a syrup film. This sugar paste for bees is ideal for feeding during honey flows, or as winter patties for bees. It can also be used for the formation of new bee colonies and nucs.
Directions for use: This is a ready-to-use bee fondant, with no additional preparation required. Simply make a small cut in a single pouch and place it directly over the crown board. One pouch per hive is sufficient.
Composition: This API feed consists of granulated sugar (saccharose). This sugar is extracted from sugar beet and contains microscopic crystals with a diameter of less than one hundredth of a millimetre. Each crystal is covered with a thin film of dissolved sugar syrup. This prevents the crystals from clumping together and creating a crust. The product can therefore be easily removed and directly ingested. Thanks to its rapid absorption, this feeding paste allows the bees to supply themselves with nutrients, making it ideal winter patties for bees.
