The Gard’Apis appears to be a well-designed trap specifically for Asian Hornets. It is notable that Asian Hornets have been found as far North as Kent already in 2024 and, as climate change progresses, it is only a matter of time before they infest England - unless we take steps such as many Gard’Apis in place to stop them. An Asian Hornet can kill as many 50 bees a day. No bees = no food.
Is feels sturdy, but the both sizes of the small plastic tubs do not fit snugly into the holder, as I have seen on the videos. I have had to trim it so it fits.
The post service from Gwenyn Gruffydd was fast and delivered on time.A big thankyou to you and your team. Great product. Will be using the trap this weekend as asian hornets are starting to appear in my area. Easy to use and easy instructions.
Thankyou again.
A big thank you to Gwenyn Gruffydd for their help with a previous order.
This trap is basically a large queen excluder, so it should prevent a lot of by catch. I’m not entirely sure about the use of one of the pots that came with it as it doesn’t seem to fit anything and the colours are washed out (this was to do with the manufacturer and has now been rectified according to an unboxing video I’ve seen on YouTube).
I think this should be more then adequate to do the job intended.
I’m just hoping the trap will never catch any Hornets anyway (ironically).
No Asian hornets in my area so trap not used in earnest yet, therefore too early to review.
