The worlds most popular hive. It is used by many commercial beekeepers in the UK for its larger brood body, simplicity of design, ease of handling and ready availability of commercial uncapping and extraction equipment.
The Langstroth hive is made from British Cedar
The economy empty hive comprises:
- Open mesh floor with correx insert
- Brood body
- plastic queen excluder
- Two supers (shallow size not medium. Our Anel super frames will not fit these supers)
- Crownboard with 2 plastic porter bee escapes
- Galvanised metal covered 4" roof.
Manufactured at Rand, Lincolnshire, the Economy Hive Components ares made from sustainably sourced British cedar. Therefore, there may be small knots, splits and other imperfections.
