This plastic bee package box is designed for safely housing and transporting package bees, making it an essential tool for beekeepers producing, selling, or installing bees into new hives.

Unlike traditional nucs, a package of bees consists of a queen and a population of young worker bees without frames or drawn comb. This allows beekeepers to introduce bees into a wide range of hive systems including Langstroth, Top Bar, Warre, foundationless setups, and Flow hives.

Lightweight, ventilated, and easy to handle, this transport cage provides a practical and cost-effective solution for colony expansion, swarm management, and bee sales.

What Are Package Bees?

A package of bees typically consists of a mated queen and a group of young worker bees, similar in structure to a natural swarm. These bees are installed into a hive where they will build comb and establish a new colony.

Package bees are widely used because they allow flexibility across hive types and are often more cost-effective than purchasing a 5 or 6 frame nucleus colony.

Applications

  • Creating and selling your own packages of bees
  • Installing bees into new hives (Langstroth, Warre, Top Bar, Flow)
  • Swarm collection and temporary housing
  • Transporting bees between apiaries
  • Cost-effective colony expansion

Why Choose a Bee Package Box

Bee packages are one of the most versatile ways to start or expand an apiary. Compared to nucs, they are typically more affordable, easier to transport, and adaptable to different hive systems.

This box provides a reliable, reusable solution for beekeepers who want flexibility in how they manage and distribute their bees.
