Create your own hornet trap with the Thomas Apiculture selective trap plate with ease.

Intelligently designed, this hornet trap plate captures hornets while allowing bees to escape thanks to its optimally sized openings. With this selective system, protect your garden while preserving pollinators, essential to biodiversity.

Installation is quick: fix the plastic plate to the side of a plastic container (bottle, jerry can, drum etc.) measuring at least 154 x 154 mm.

Plate Sold without screws and without container.

The plate is sold on it’s own allowing you to reuse plastic syrup drums / containers for a more sustainable approach.

Our advice for responsible trapping :

Hornet trapping must be carried out carefully to protect biodiversity. Place traps during periods of critical hornet activity and monitor captures regularly to minimise impacts on other insects.

Trapping from February to May :

During this time, target queens emerging from hibernation. Sweet baits, such as our Trappit lure are effective at attracting them.

Trapping from July to November :

In summer and fall, hornets rely more on protein for reproduction.
