- Strips are 210x40mm wide and therefore fit neatly between the frames without having to be cut or bent.
- The active ingredient is Amitraz which paralyzes the varroa mite causing it to fall off the bees.
- One single application of Apivar varroa treatment has efficacy of up to 99% and there are no temperature constraints as there are with most other varroa treatments.
- It can therefore be used at any time of year, although supers must not be on the hives.
- The strips should be left in for between 6 and 10 weeks, depending on the size of the brood and the time of year.
- We would recommend a spring treatment of between 6 and 10 weeks or an autumn treatment of 10 weeks.
- Used on our own 400+ hive honey farm
